Description:The COPCAMS project aimed to exploit the new multi-core, programmable accelerator platforms in the realization of a new generation of vision-related devices (smart cameras and gateways) capable of extracting relevant information from captured images and to react autonomously to changes in the conditions detected in the environment. The goa lis to enable the design and deployment of cognitive and perceptual camera systems. The project finished in September 2016 and successfully passed the final review at the ECSEL JU headquarters in Brussels.
Despite the lack of funding due to the bankrupcy of the company coordinating of the national consortium, I&IMS, the University of Cantabria contributed to the development of new 3D video algorithms and their efficient implementation in heterogeneous multi-processor platforms. However, the main result was the generation of a patent that allows to position objects in a 3D space with applications in Mixed Reality and the development of the corresponding proof of concept.
